With Spring in the air, why not join us at the Albert Hall for a concert of beautiful music including Rachmaninov's iconic Piano Concerto No 2, the soundtrack to the film "Brief Encounter".  We're delighted to welcome RNCM concerto prize winner Maria Luc to perform the concerto with us.

Louise Farrenc was also a talented pianist and professor of piano at the Paris Conservatory.  Her work as a composer was largely forgotten until the late 20th century when many were rediscovered and recorded.  Her delightful Overture No 1 is included in our programme.

Works by our featured composer for the season, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, were included in our November and January concerts and we continue that trend here with his Othello Suite.

Robert Schumann's wife, Clara, was also an accomplished concert pianist, but it is his symphonic repertoire that completes the programme with his 5 movement Symphony No 3 - The Rhenish

    Samuel Coleridge-Taylor - Othello Suite
Rachmaninov - Piano Concerto No 2
    (Soloist: Maria Luc)
Louise Farrenc - Overture No 1
Schumann - Symphony No 3 ("The Rhenish")
