Erich Wolfgang Korngold (1897 - 1957) The Sea Hawk
Hungarian composer Erich Korngold was born in 1897, and moved to USA in 1920s. He was a major composer whose works include several operas, a fine symphony and very good violin concerto. He worked for Warner Brothers in Hollywood, and wrote scores for about 20 films. His most well known were the swashbuckling films which starred Errol Flynn at his peak, Sea Hawk and The Adventures of Robin Hood, which won him an Oscar. He died in 1957.
