John Barry has over 70 film scores
to his credit, and has won 5 Oscars for them. Out of Africa was
made in 1985 by Sydney Pollack, and starred Robert Redford, and
Meryl Streep. It is based on an autobiographic story by Danish
writer Karen Blixen who married for convenience, left Denmark
to settle in Kenya, and fell in love with a British big-game hunter.
It is a great romance, if you can believe in Robert Redford as
an upper class Englishman.
